How Grounded Living Optimal Wellness Came To Be
In November of 2014, my life took an unexpected turn when a sudden, unexplained health crisis took me overnight from a healthy individual to someone dependent on a wheelchair and unable to use the right side of my body. I spent years visiting doctor after doctor, searching for answers that never came. Each appointment ended with the same discouraging message: I would have to accept and live with this new reality indefinitely. The time was marked by frustration, confusion, and a deep sense of being dismissed by the professionals I trusted to help me.
Everything changed when I began researching holistic and alternative healing practices and working with holistic practitioners. I started to take a different approach to restoring my health, focusing on the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—rather than just symptoms. Through their guidance, I began to heal. Today, I’m walking, hiking, running, dancing, teaching yoga, finishing my PhD, and running a business born from this transformative experience.
I know firsthand what it feels like to be lost in the healthcare system, unsure of where to turn, and unheard by those who are supposed to care and have the answers. This business is more than a professional endeavor; it’s a personal mission. I aim to create a space where people struggling with health issues—or simply seeking to live healthier lives—can find support, guidance, and empowerment.
As a certified FDN practitioner, I want to equip individuals with the knowledge and tools to understand what is happening in their body, take charge of their health, live their fullest lives, and share that wisdom with others. By fostering a community built on education, compassion, and holistic wellness, I hope to ensure that no one has to endure the isolation and uncertainty I once faced.
This business, Grounded Living Optimal Wellness, is my way of turning pain into purpose—and helping others do the same.
Meet the Owner…
My name is Annie and I’m a Certified Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P), certified Yoga Teacher (CYT), and the owner of Grounded Living Optimal Wellness.
I work with people who are looking to improve their health but feel overwhelmed by conflicting advice, are stuck in cycles that aren’t working, or simply have not found the answers that they have been looking for. My approach is simple: small, strategic changes, based on lab data, that lead to meaningful, lasting results.
Clients come to me for support, but they leave with something more important — the tools and confidence to take ownership of their health. I’m here to guide, educate, and empower you so that when our work is done, you don’t just feel better — you understand why.
When I’m not spending time with clients, I teach yoga, volunteer with a local dog rescue, read, and spend as much time as I can near the ocean.
If you’re curious about working together, I invite you to set up an initial consult and see if it’s a good fit.

Why embodiedGLOW?
Health isn’t just about the physical body — it’s a reflection of the whole person: body, mind, and spirit. It’s not something to chase through numbers or quick fixes, but something to cultivate through daily choices, habits, and self-awareness. When health is approached as a lifestyle — rooted in intention, balance, and self-respect — it becomes transformative. People who truly embody this way of living carry a kind of glow: a quiet confidence, clarity, and energy that others naturally gravitate toward. That’s the kind of health we support — not just measured, but felt.
