What is holistic health?

Holistic health is an approach that considers the whole person, including physical, mental, and spiritual aspects, to achieve optimal well-being. It emphasizes the interconnectedness of body, mind, and spirit, promoting balance and harmony in life.

What is a certified FDN practitioner?

A certified Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P) uses lab data alongside client symptoms to identify imbalances in the body that are contributing to an individual’s health problems. Their approach differs from the traditional medical model in the fact that they don’t simply “treat the symptom.” They take a holistic, whole body assessment of each client and use multiple approaches, including lifestyle modifications and supplementation, in assisting the client to rectify their issues. While there are standard recommendations for all clients (i.e. sleeping 8 hours a night), every protocol is specific to each individual based on their own particular needs and deficiencies.

What services do you offer?

We offer both online and in-person services tailored to enhance your holistic health journey.

What are lifestyle modifications?

Lifestyle modifications refer to changes in daily habits and routines that promote better health, such as improved nutrition, increased physical activity, and stress management techniques, all aimed at enhancing overall well-being.

How do supplements fit into holistic health?

Supplements can play one or more roles in your health journey. For example, supplementation can be utilized to substitute vital nutrients and minerals that are lacking in the body. On the other hand, supplements can be utilized to stimulate one or more processes in the body, like detoxification or digestion, that are not functioning at full capacity. However, regardless of which supplements are used and for what reason, they are chosen using the results of lab values and clinical correlation with the client’s symptoms and health goals and are always used in conjunction with a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle choices. Note: It is always advisable to consult with a healthcare provider before starting any new supplement regimen.

Why should I use functional labs?

When standard tests consistently return “Everything looks normal,” yet symptoms persist, it signals an opportunity to take charge of personal health. This is the time to explore deeper insights through alternative testing methods such as saliva, urine, hair, and stool analysis. While these tests are not designed to diagnose or treat conditions, they provide valuable clarity into how the body’s systems are functioning. The body operates as an interconnected network—not in isolation. Addressing dysfunction requires a strategic, systems-based approach that begins with asking the right questions: “Why is this happening?” “Why is it manifesting in this way?” A key principle in functional medicine is that symptoms are not the root problem—they are the result of deeper imbalances. For example, experiencing thyroid or hormone issues doesn’t necessarily mean those organs are the source of dysfunction. The true cause often lies further upstream. Eliminating certain foods may help, but it’s only one piece of a much larger puzzle. The more data available, the easier it becomes to identify patterns and assemble a clear picture of what’s going on beneath the surface. That’s why the Functional Diagnostic Nutrition system emphasizes collecting a specific set of data points. This structured approach helps decode internal imbalances and guides personalized strategies for restoring optimal health.

What functional labs do you use?

We use lab tests from our preferred labs in the US. All labs are mailed and can be completed from your home. This at-home testing is extremely convenient and allows for easy sample collection. However, please know that these are specialized functional labs, and most doctors are not even aware of their existence, so you will most likely be unable to order them through your doctor. Some foundational labs we use include:

  • The stress and hormone panel. This tests your cortisol levels at four points throughout the day in addition to the major sex hormones, including estrogen, testosterone, DHEA, and progesterone. This test also looks at melatonin levels at noon. (Saliva test)
  • The metabolic wellness. This panel looks at digestion, how well the liver is working, and cellular stress and aging. (Dried urine test)
  • The GI Map. This test looks at intestinal health markers, examines the balance of bacteria, and screens for parasites and infections. (Stool testing)
  • The mucosal barrier assessment. This test determines the integrity of the gut lining, as well as levels of histamine. (Finger-prick blood test)
  • A food sensitivity test. This test identifies trigger foods that stimulate your immune system which can result in symptoms such as acne, headaches, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, and brain fog. What’s great is that this test doesn’t require you to consume foods you’re intolerant to in order for them to show up. (Finger-prick blood test)

Note: Some Functional labs and test kits are not covered by insurance.

I’ve previously worked with a Functional Medicine or Naturopathic Doctor. How is your approach different?

I did too, which is one reason I became an FDN-P! However, many aspects of their approach made my healing journey difficult. I told myself that when I became a practitioner and began working with clients, I would adjust my practice to make the healing journey as easy and informative as possible. This approach is designed to be highly supportive, structured, and personalized—especially for those who are sensitive or easily overwhelmed. A few key differences include:

  • Bi-weekly check-ins, ensuring consistent guidance, accountability, and space to adjust as needed. You’re never navigating this alone.
  • Rather than front-loading information or protocols, everything is introduced step by step. This allows time to understand each phase, ask questions, and make informed decisions without feeling rushed or overloaded.
  • Supplement protocols are introduced one at a time with careful titration to monitor how the body responds. This minimizes the risk of adverse reactions and ensures that each change is well-tolerated before moving forward.

The goal is to build a sustainable, data-informed strategy that honors each person’s unique pace and physiology—while providing steady support every step of the way. This model offers consistent support, accountability, and guidance—so you’re never left in the dark or waiting months for a brief appointment with someone who may not recall your history. Instead, care is delivered through a collaborative, personalized process that prioritizes your unique needs and pace. Rather than diagnosing disease, this approach focuses on identifying dysfunction—the subtle imbalances that disrupt optimal health. In the Functional Diagnostic Nutrition framework, there’s only one label: Metabolic Chaos: the underlying stress and disorganization within the body’s systems that give rise to symptoms. The goal is to support the body’s natural healing capacity by uncovering and addressing the root causes of dysfunction—not by labeling disease, but by restoring balance and resilience.

How long will it take me to feel better?

The timeline for feeling better varies from person to person. It depends on several factors, including how long symptoms have been present, the complexity of what’s going on in the body, and how consistently someone follows their personalized health program.

Progress is often tied to the level of commitment—those who invest time, stay engaged with their plan, and follow recommendations closely tend to see results more quickly. That said, healing isn’t a race. It’s a process that unfolds step by step, and every small improvement is a sign that the body is responding.

With regular support, clear guidance, and a strategy tailored to individual needs, positive changes are not only possible—they’re expected. The goal is steady, sustainable progress that builds real resilience over time.

How much time will I need to dedicate to this program?

Your wellness plan will ask for small, consistent investments of time each day—whether it’s preparing nourishing meals, engaging in gentle movement, or practicing stress-reducing activities. True transformation doesn’t come from quick fixes or overnight solutions. It’s built gradually, through intentional daily habits that support lasting change.
